Day 37 - Roman Baths
Tuesday, May 31, 2011
And so our walking tour around Bath begins. The first thing I notice? Everything looks the same! I better not get lost here!
We got to see the historical Roman Baths which were basically just another tourist attraction. It seemed very gimmicky with the cellular phone audio devices. I guess it is a good way to work since everyone could go at their own pace and listen to whatever they wanted. I found myself listening to the one meant for children.. they made me laugh.
I got to be part of an art piece! An artist by the name of Lady Dada was getting photograph of people in the street wearing butterfly wings. It was quite interesting. She was a bizarre character and I couldn’t help but to think it was an act. We had to go get our photographs at the Holbourn Museum, which I really enjoyed analyzing the architecture of. The room Lady Dada was working in was located directly between the old building and the new, modern building; an area of metamorphosis, mirroring her butterfly project. I liked that.
