Day 61 - V&A yet again!

Friday, June 24, 2011

So we’ve been to the V&A a few times before.. why am I only seeing these things for the first time?! This place is HUGE! I legit got lost today — sorry about that, Gerard. Oh my god, I saw so much today — well about as much as I’d see any other day. I just can’t believe I hadn’t seen it in the V&A before. Sorry if I’m rambling.

Some of my thought on the Yohji Yamamoto show:

I was not looking forward to this show but it turned out to be quite incredible.  He knows his material and fabrics extremely well and his designs were very innovative

A lot of fashion has that ‘unwearable’ quality; his doesn’t. I would happily wear one of his pieces and not only love the style, but also be comfortable while wearing it.

One of my favorite pieces was the knitted white hat. I studied it for quite a while and think I might attempt to remake it… altered of course.

The show was brilliant. And so were the other rooms I saw today. A big topper was the glass room. as well as the jewlery section. The theatre room was INSANE! So many beautiful costumes from shows that I LOVE! I even got to try some costumes on myself… I’m a bit of a nerd.
