Defying Gravity

Day 67 - Didn’t think I’d be doing this in London!

Thursday, June 30, 2011

33 kids, 5 teachers, 4 helpers, 1 guide. Sounds like one hell of a time, doesn’t it?!

Today, we took a group of students around London, acting as Gerard’s helpers. It was actually a lot of fun! We know London so well now that it was a piece of cake! We took them through the East End, then through the financial district, then down to St. Pauls and stopped at the Millenium Bridge. The kids were really great! They seemed like they really wanted to learn and see some awesome things. A couple people were scared while going to the top of St. Paul’s, but most made it okay! Hah! One girl even held onto me. She was great though — even asked for a picture with me at the end of the day.

After our GREAT success with the kids, Gerard took us out to his (three) favourite pubs and treated us to a drink. Pretty great day — despite the 2 centimetre splinter that was in my leg from the damn cellar pub!
